What is Cricket Garden?
Cricket Garden is the personal organic garden of Kate Hart and Joe Veler located on Harsens Island on the South Channel of Lake St. Clair. The garden has grown into an acre of raised gardens complete with 30 different kinds of vegetables and herbs. We also go to local farmers (organic and heirloom) to supplement the demands of our customers. We also maintain a small greenhouse. In addition, located next to the garden is our Cricket Garden Produce Stand, featuring ours and local farmer's products. Everything is Michigan grown and produced. See list below for products.
Who Are We?
Kate and Joe are the owners and operators of the Cricket Garden Produce Stand and Garden. We have been in operation for two years with plans to grow. We will be leasing two more acres in Marine City so that we may offer only our vegetables and fruits, maintaining the quality that we are so proud of. We have several people that help us throughout the summer but basically it is a one man, one woman show. Helping us daily are Buddy and Minky Monkey the Garden Cats - keeping our vegetable free of mice.
